The Isle of Portland Canoe Club welcomes new members who have achieved an equivalent standard of the old British Canoeing 2 star award (being able to control a kayak/ paddle in a straight line/ turn etc..). We are an adult club, so new members have to be aged 18 or over.

Younger paddlers are well catered for by WOEC .  WOEC is one of the many places providing training to reach BCU awards.

The club have a number of kayaks, paddles and buoyancy aids that may be used or borrowed by members.

Whatever your motivation, kayaking can offer you something. Whether you paddle for enjoyment of the coastline, to learn new skills, to share good company, to improve fitness, to get outdoors or to get an adrenaline rush in white-water and surf - canoeing is for you! .

If you are still unsure whether canoeing is for you, why not send an email to one of the club committee members (details here). They will be only too pleased to have a chat to help make your mind up .
